Water Under The Bridge

That's All Water Under The Bridge_ That is all past now, and there is nothing that can be done about it. 'Yes, it's a pity you didn't accept Fred's offer, but it's useless to reproach yourself now. It's all water under the bridge.'

Martha Ferguson kicks off my Water Under the Bridge idiom research with a cracking image created using all sorts of materials in a very rough style that intrigues..

Helen turner has painted this very flat looking bridge with a lot of detail in the water. This is something that would detract from the idiom in my opinion.

Dennis Lessard has sketched this immaculate stone bridge, definitely something along the lines of what i am considering producing. Well done Dennis!

A simple sketchbook sketch really, but it captured me in thinking about where to focus on the bridge, this is very much looking at the under part.

Another under part focus of the bridge is this Picasso like piece which intrigues immensely, not my style of work, but a different take none the less.

These very simple looking bridges by Fay Jones  leaves you satisfied and yet wanting more in terms of detail, but it's clearly unnecessary to do so. I will take the simplicity aspect from this.

Finally Daniel Taylor's comic piece i am including purely for the traditional stone bridge illustration.

Here are my observational images, the colour ones were taken by myself within the town from where i live over the Easter period and the black and white ones i have found in a rather handy book based around the story of my home town, this book is titled 'A Millennium Portrait'. I have chosen to focus on the stone bridge (as explained within my sketchbooks) as this has the most character and recognizable bridge features when put through the processes i go through.

Having collected and finalised my imagery here is the card below in the template i hope to continue with. I have chosen to do this because of the success the last range had with peers and tutors, thus not wanting to deviate too far. Note that the text is in the same fashion as the previous card range, adding continuity:

Here is the front and inside of the envelope developed and adapted from the previous card range project. I have changed the imagery to suit and complement this particular card. I am sticking with this design because it works most effectively and was a success previously.
