As Fresh As A Daisy

As Fresh As A Daisy_ Full of energy.

To start the daisy research, i have begun, once again, with the fine art side of things. Firstly looking at Karen Margulis' 'Fresh As A Daisy' painting found here:
http://www.dailypainters.com/paintings/230381/Fresh-as-a-Daisy-on-Blue/Karen-Margulis

This piece is inspiring, very simple to look at, and yet helpful to study.

The second leads me to an Australian painter who goes by the name of Scally Art. Her interpretation of daises are a strong likeness, and a great example to follow in my own work. Here she has also surrounded the flowers with context of the table and fruit.

Dawn Eaton is the next artist to fall under the realism catagory with her interpretation of the flower found here: http://www.dawneaton.com/fresh---as-a-daisy.html

I like the look and feel of this piece of work and its something i would like to portray. I especially like the petels.

The artist is unknown for this work, however there is this statement:
I hadn't been painting for a while.I went to a wonderful Christian conference. When I came home I felt fresh as a daisy. I did this painting to express my feelings. "Fresh As A Daisy"

I have chosen to focus on this piece because of its simplicity and naiveness.

This is Katy Smail's work relating to the idiom, found here on her blog site:

This contemporary illustrative style of working suits the fashion scene well, and its this style that makes simplicity look detailed, something i like.

Whilst on the theme of contemporary illustration styles, this piece of work fits right in, and although not my cup of tea at all, it still interprets the idiom.

This next piece that i have come across relating to the idiom relates to children's illustration and is therefore very colourful and bold, simple and strong.

The colours complement here and i think that if i were to use simple colours they would resemble this.

Now, although this next style of art is vector based, it is still worth taking not of the style and how the idiom is represented. Very smooth and clean, not really my style, but good enough to look at and take note from.

Blue Eye Pictures has uploaded a daisy inspired idiom theme to a tshirt design worth me taking note of, a very simple graphic design that incorporates both image and text. Something that i could perhaps be partaking in...

Andrea Dawn is the next artist that i have come across that relates to daisies through her practice (Photography). And although its a photo, i do like the texture of this image along with the strength that is captured within the daisy.

Having referenced a daisy (but forgot to take photographs of it) i have gone through the development process in the sketchbooks and have come out with the result below:

Having collected and finalised my imagery here is the card below in the template i hope to continue with. I have chosen to do this because of the success the last range had with peers and tutors, thus not wanting to deviate too far. Note that the text is in the same fashion as the previous card range, adding continuity:

Here is the front and inside of the envelope developed and adapted from the previous card range project. I have changed the imagery to suit and complement this particular card. I am sticking with this design because it works most effectively and was a success previously.
